Max Foster

Hope Student Pastor

Max is a young man who was struck by God’s loving, life-changing purpose as a freshman at Bryan College. While pursuing his dream of playing college basketball on scholarship there, God changed his life and began opening up His eyes to the sufficiency and beauty that is found in Christ. As Max struggled through this transition, he found that he had to reevaluate his priorities and values and place Christ at the top. God began opening his eyes to the needs of the people around him, and challenging him to live by faith.

As God began really working in his life, Max began a journey with God of redefining his purpose and value structure. As God kept asking Max to take the next step in his faith, all Max had to do was put his yes on the table. God brought him on a transformative journey, and gave him a heart for young people wanting to grow in their faith, wanting their questions answered, and wanting a place to belong.

Hope Youth is the next step of faith in Max’s journey. He does not pretend to have it all figured out, but his passion is to see the youth at Hope Church increase in knowledge, faith and love through an increased dependence and love for Jesus Christ and His Word. Sunday nights are meant to be a fun, inclusive experience where students are encouraged to ask questions and really become immersed in Truth. With so many different messages flying at our youth from every direction, it is so important to root ourselves in truth of Scripture. Psalm 1:3, “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

Max is really looking forward to growing with our youth this coming summer as they examine God’s Word and apply it to their lives.
